CBS Bookkeeper Full or Part Time

Position Overview

Our Firm is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to assist in managing day-to-day accounting for Client offices. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are crucial qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position has several years of bookkeeping experience with Quickbooks; is reliable, and committed to delivering excellent service, and meeting deadlines.

 

Responsibilities

Record financial transactions and complete posting process.

Balance and maintain accurate ledgers, and chart of accounts.

Maintain and balance any subsidiary accounts.

Match purchase orders with invoices.

Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to management.

Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts.

Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances.

Complete tax forms.

Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets, a/r and a/p reports.

 

Interpersonal Skills

Exhibits time management and organization skills.

Coordinates reporting and paperwork between Client(s) and Firm personnel.

Maintains a Client first approach to services.

Maintains existing Client relationships and demonstrates basic knowledge of Client’s businesses.

Participates in professional development as may be required by Firm.

Understands Firm ethics and demonstrates them consistently.

Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

 

Experience, Training & Skills

High School Diploma is required.

Five years’ experience working in a/p, a/r, g/l, payroll and payroll reports.

Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

Experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and QuickBooks.

Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes.

Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.

Works well with tax staff, accountants, supervisors and President.

Maintain a good working relationship with CBS and Client staff members.

Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and imagination in approaching work.

Establishes workflow and timelines as it relates to projects.

Executes firm’s policies and procedures to effectively carry out responsibilities for the Firm and Client.
